The incident was resolved by 10:15am MST. The cause of the incident was an unresponsive caching service we use to maximize database performance. This service would typically failover to its backup servers during an incident, which didn't occur in this case. We're putting corrective measures in place. Our load balancer kicked in to keep the system operating while we restarted the server. The issue has been resolved. In the rare event of a server incident, the WaitWell system is designed to automatically failover to one of the other servers that run in parallel because our redundancy is designed to be automatic and transparent. Unfortunately, the specific type of failure was not detected by the failover software. We've identified that reason resolved the matter. The incident affected a small portion of users on app.waitwell.ca for approximately 8-min while the server restarted.
